When Gavin Miller and Thomas Ragsdale realised that the ideas that they had been developing had taken on a whole new feel they decided to put worriedaboutsatan on hiatus; Ghosting Season was born! A noisier more organic affair, blending dark electronic atmospherics with more propulsive beats. It isn’t often that two young chaps can confidently say they make pretty damn good music in two different genres, under two different guises.
Their Far End of the Graveyard EP was released to great critical acclaim earlier this year, and now they’ve got some friends (including Polinski and Nedry) to reimagine the title track for an excellent remix EP. Twisting and pulling an already great epic track in new, and interesting directions.
Tracks that on record unfurl with increasing drama and build to cathartic crescendo are given a different energy live, filling the space with a kind of towering euphoria, all the while underpinned by a driving rhythm. Considering they are just two guys on stage switching between two guitars, drum pads loops and “something like an electric cello” they produce an awful lot of noise.
They are embarking on a mini tour with Cloud Boat this Saturday, but for those of you in London you can catch them at playing The Macbeth on Monday 24 October, for info and tickets click here.
